The Marcellina Cooking Academy has appointed Literally Brilliant as principal marketing consultant on an ongoing basis and will pay a pivotal role in the reinvigoration of the Academy. Previously focused on children’s parties and corporate team building events, the Marcellina Cooking Academy is responding to demand for a more regular and informative food culture experience.
While bespoke academy events will continue at other locations, the regular Marcellina Cooking Academy classes will be based at the Glenunga store. All academy initiatives are built on a strong tradition of authenticity and hospitality.
Marcellina was one of the original Pizzeria established in Adelaide, South Australia in 1967. Since then it has played a key role in developing the Italian pizza/food culture in Adelaide and Australia. Established to serve authentic food to recent Italian immigrants that longed for good food prepared in the traditional way of their old homeland that was not available at that time here in Australia. Retaining its passion for traditional recipes, Marcellina has a reputation for quality in all things; uncompromised quality ingredients, freshness, taking time to cure dough, and unrivalled passion to be consistently superior.
“The revitalised offering will be entertaining, enjoyable and enlightening” says Ray Dahdah, the man behind the Marcellina Cooking Academy. “It should inform and empower people to be able to make excellent quality authentic pizza to a traditional recipe and have fun in the process.”
With the belief that food culture enriches lives, the Academy comes from a rich tradition of Mediterranean hospitality. As such, a key part of the lesson is the fellowship of the meal at the end of each class. Food is prepared to be shared.
“The Marcellina Cooking Academy is all about a passionate sharing of a cultural inheritance that explores the quality of authenticity in the context and fun of Mediterranean hospitality” says Ray Dahdah. “Literally Brilliant has been instrumental in helping us understand the opportunity, refine our offering and tell our story”.
The Marcellina Cooking Academy will be conducted on a regular ongoing basis, held at Glenunga every last Saturday in the month at this stage. The first Marcellina Cooking Academy in the new format will be conducted on the last Saturday in August (29th August 2015). Positions are limited to just 30 spots per month so book early.
